We are proud to announce the lineup of industry professionals who will be taking part in four Beauty Talks at the upcoming edition of MakeUp in New York, held on September 14 & 15, 2022 at River Pavilion - Javits Center, New York. 

For MakeUp in New York, Cosmetics Inspiration & Creation invites attendees to join them as they decode four distinct trends that will define the next normal for the Beauty industry.  Leïla Rochet, the agency’s Chief Innovation Officer, will be joined by leading industry figures to decode the major trends and consumer behaviors that will shape the industry in the years to come.

Sharing the common threads of fluidity and adaptability, joy and self-expression, each trend represents four opportunities for brands to reach new dimensions of excellence.

Over two days, a selection of industry leaders will join CIC Chief Inspiration Officer and CEO  Leïla Rochet in four Beauty Talks, where they will deep dive into each of CIC’s core trends for the year ahead:

Today’s consumers are connoisseurs of Clean Beauty, and brands need to reshape their innovation in order to stay ahead of the game. Eco-native brands are driving the deep green revolution, pushing the boundaries to develop radically clean solutions that benefit both people and planet. The new beauty ecosystem will be charged with excitement for ultra-transparent sourcing, new upcycled ingredients, regenerative packaging, and dynamic, net-zero products that proactively give back to the planet.

During the talk, Leïla will introduce the major changes and new initiatives seen internationally in the context of deep green solutions. Iva Teixeira will provide an edit of the latest insights sourced from The Good Face Project analysis tool and discuss the latest guidelines for brands and labs.

Makeup becomes self-medication, a route to emotional wellbeing and an elixir to the recent years of quiet home-hubbing. Freed from restrictions there is a deep desire to revel in color and creativity, and use makeup as a tool of transformation. Brands must develop products that deliver an instant shot of happiness, excite the senses and meet the demand for unrestrained glamor.

With a special focus on makeup, Addison and Olivier will deep dive into the most recent Spate consumer data insights, based on the analysis of online search data from the US, France and the UK.

#3. Adaptive-First – Dismantling the Barriers to Beauty

Pitch: The Beauty industry is entering a post-inclusive phase, pushing beyond skin-tone matching to consider all aspects of inclusivity and accessibility. As today’s multifaceted and diverse consumers drive towards an inclusive utopia, they will expect to be met with products that fit their exacting needs. Brands must become radically adaptive in their approach and develop products that consider all facets of all faces - from the specificities of melanin–rich skin issues to eyelash texture; from biological life–stages to seen and unseen access needs.

 Leïla will introduce the major international shifts and the prospective territories in the rapidly developing field of Adaptive Beauty. The hybridisation of solutions and categories is creating an exciting new dimension for beauty, where healing is achieved by blending science and wellness to create a new narrative around psycho-physiological care.  Brands must lean into the evolving nature of skintelligence by introducing new biological semantics and technological engineering to appeal to today’s ingredient-smart consumers.
